Blurb:

Drew Weaver is co-owner of the hottest club in Miami, with all the women he wants--until his sick mother moves in with him. With his serial hookups on hold, he expects his social life to sag under the weight of responsibility. But after spending time with his mother and her pretty home health aide, Olivia, this playboy discovers being a homebody may just be the hottest, sweetest deal of all.

Until a rival makes it his mission to tear them apart.
Olivia Rodriguez is the daughter of Colombian immigrants with old-fashioned ideas that she should live at home until she marries a man they approve of. She rebelled in high school with boys--lots of boys. Now a nurse, she's sworn off men, especially Javier, a man who has her parent’s approval. But Javier doesn’t ring her bells. Not like Drew, the handsome, cocky son of her client, who does his best to break down her walls. He is the one guy she can't resist, in any way.

But when Javier shows her evidence of Drew's betrayal, should she give up on him…or is their love and passion worth fighting for?

A womanizer falling in love?

Drew was the guy who didn't date a woman for more than a week. First of all, that cover was so perfect after reading this book. That was totally Drew on the cover. *fans self*

I think there's a misconception that all womanizers are jerks, but not Drew. He actually had a heart and he cared about everyone. He kept everything for the long term except for women. He didn't think love was worth his time because of the way his parents divorced.

Olivia was a sheltered woman who let her family run her life for too long. It made sense coming from a Colombian family. There was nothing wrong with being family oriented, but there was a limit to it. Drew wanted her to live her life, so he offered to be her life guide.

These two were so cute together. The book was light and such an easy read -- another win, for sure. I loved the funny moments the most, but also the private, more romantic moments. Drew could be silly when he wanted to, and he felt comfortable around Olivia. I liked that their relationship didn't dilly dally. Yes, there were challenges along the way, but Drew didn't waste time telling Olivia he liked her.

I also loved that the people in their lives were equally involved in the story, without being too much. I especially liked Drew's mom. I wasn't sure what to think of her in the beginning of the book, but at the end, I loved her!

Karen: "Andrew, stop playing footsie with my nurse and manage your dog."
Drew: "Mom."
Karen: "Did you think I'm so blind that I can't see the two of you putting your hands all over each other?"
Olivia: "I'm sorry, we were trying to be discreet."

ARC Review: Bound to Submit

Laura Kaye is one of my absolute favorite authors for a reason... When she releases new books and offers them for review, I'm always at the front of the line to sign up. Check out my review below of her latest new release.

Title: Bound to Submit
Series: Blasphemy, #1
Author: Laura Kaye
Self-Published

Blurb:

From the ruins of an abandoned church comes Baltimore’s hottest and most exclusive BDSM club. Twelve Masters. Infinite fantasies. Welcome to Blasphemy…

He thinks he caused her pain, but she knows he’s the only one who can heal her…

Kenna Sloane lost her career and her arm in the Marines, and now she feels like she’s losing herself. Submission is the only thing that ever freed her from pain and made her feel secure, and Kenna needs to serve again. Bad. The only problem is the Dom she wants once refused her submission and broke her heart, but, scarred on the inside and out, she’s not looking for love this time. She’s not even sure she’s capable.

Griffin Hudson is haunted by the mistakes that cost him the only woman he ever loved. Now she’s back at his BDSM club, Blasphemy, and more beautiful than ever, and she’s asking for his help with the pain he knows he caused. Even though he’s scared to hurt her again, he can’t refuse her, because he’d give anything to earn a second chance. And this time, he’ll hold on forever.

Intricately hot and emotional!

Master Griffin and Kenna Sloane both had something to feel guilty about. Together, they faced their fears and battled their demons, and it was so beautiful. I was crying towards the end of this book and the damn tears just wouldn't stop!

Kenna felt self-conscious about her arm; she felt like people would be put off by it, but the one opinion she really cared about was Griffin's. His reaction to her insecurities was so passionate that I was overwhelmed with admiration for his character.

"Are you under the impression that your amputation in any way detracts from my attraction to you? Because if you are, I'm telling you right fucking now that you're the most beautiful woman I've ever known in my whole goddamned life and nothing--nothing--could ever change that."

The way that Griffin embraced all of Kenna, even as she thought she was incomplete or undeserving, was so inspiring. His feelings for her helped him show Kenna that he wasn't going anywhere.

Kenna: "It can't exactly cut me, Griffin."
Griffin: "That's not fucking funny, Kenna."

There was one really intense scene that brought so much tears in my eyes. I just couldn't wait for you all to read it. It was so amazing and heart wrenching at the same time. Especially when Griffin had to text '911' to one of the other Doms. Just brilliant how they were all there for each other whenever assistance was needed.

One of my favorite parts was finding out Griffin drove an Audi A7. What a sexy car for a sexy man. Can every sexy man just drive an Audi, please?

There were two things I wanted to mention though. First, it seemed that in any BDSM situation that took place in someone's personal abode, there was always a wash cloth in the bathroom for someone to use. I mean, I don't even own a wash cloth. How do these characters just always happen to have a wash cloth at the ready? (lol)

Second, the ending felt a bit incomplete. There was one scene I was hoping to see, but when I saw "the end" and didn't read about the scene, I was a bit disappointed. Well, I guess when Griffin thought "it was private", I guess that meant the reader couldn't read about it either. Darn it!

Overall, though, this book was so good. I have always devoured Laura's books and this was no different. I would highly recommend it.

Blurb
The Program: an organization of elite soldiers with superior strength, agility, and intellect. These men put their lives on the line to execute the government’s most dangerous missions.
Journalist Loren Stanton wants nothing more than to break a big story that will catapult her career. But the only item that’s caught her eye lately is Adam Blacker, a soldier whose rugged sexiness sets her pulse racing. When rumors surface that he’s part of a classified government program, Loren has every excuse she needs to get as close to him as possible, no matter what it takes.
As team leader of a covert ops group, Adam steers clear of all journalists, but there’s no denying the blazing passion Loren stirs in him. A scorching night together convinces him their connection is more than skin-deep, still, he’s not ready to let down his guard—his genetic enhancements make him an exceptional soldier, but what woman would want to commit to his high-risk life?
When a dangerous enemy from Adam’s past resurfaces and Loren insists on joining the fight rather than running, he’s forced to face a dark truth. This courageous, loyal woman moves him in ways he never imagined possible. And now that Adam knows she has his back, he also knows that he has to win.

Such a fun read with unexpected twists and turns and an explosive romance!

This book reminded me of why I love Lynne Silver. At first, I was a bit thrown off by the term "genetically enhanced" and I thought the soldiers weren't human. Eventually, I understood the concept and everything was like an adventure since then.

Although the main characters were Adam and Loren, I was instantly hooked by Xander. Something about him was so intriguing, but I would have to wait and read his book later.

I loved the humor. It felt like a light read, but with the intensity of a romantic suspense. Does that make sense? Basically, it's my perfect book. Adam and Loren couldn't keep their hands off each other, and to be fair, I didn't want them to ;)

I loved the strength that the program represented, but also the mystery. What woman could resist that? It's hard to explain without spoiling the book, so you'll just have to take my word for it. This book is brilliant and will keep you reading until you reach the end.

That something arrives in the form of gorgeous, sexy Sam Rollins who appreciates her curves and knows exactly how to please her – all night long.

But their passionate encounter sets off a series of events that leave Carly in peril and Sam in a tough spot. The one-night stand turns into a risky partnership seeking to bring down a dangerous criminal enterprise with little time to plan or prepare. Standing together they can face the danger, but can the attraction that brought them together keep them alive?

You know that feeling sometimes of wanting to read something short and steamy? Well, that's why I got this book. It was nice that it was free as well. What I got in return was something so much more! This book became intense quickly and I was hooked! When it ended, I refused to believe it. I needed the second book right away!

Carly was curvy and she was always insecure about it, especially when a sexy guy like Sam showed her some passionate attention. She couldn't believe it, but she thought she'd enjoy it while it lasted.

I was able to guess what Sam's job was just before he told Carly. Finding out what he did made him extra sexy if that was even possible at all. Gosh, I really would like the second book now so I could devour it!

If you're looking for something sexy, but fun, and also intense, give this book a try. It's free, so what have you got to lose? :)

Blurb:

Kidnapping mortals to different eras is such fun. Trickster muse sisters, Clio and Erato, call it a glimpse, but military historian Minerva Ferguson, Erva, is fairly certain she’s gone nuts when she wakes two hundred miles from her apartment. And two hundred years in the past to Brooklyn, 1776. In an unfamiliar manse, during the American Revolutionary War, she’s not too sure how to regain her sanity. Especially when she realizes whose mansion she’s just woken in, the one British general she studied more than anything else, Lord William Hill.

When Will hears Erva’s screams of panic, he breaks down a door to save her, even if he can’t quite remember why she’s visiting. She calms, though, the instant she sees him, as if they’ve known each other for eons. From the second he sees her dressed in a toga made from a bed sheet to later when she’s with his troops, wooing them with her musket skills, he realizes he’s smitten. But he’s a weary soldier, shrouded in grief, while she reminds him of a sun goddess. Is she too good for him? Lord, how he wants her to want him.

How could Erva not fall for a guy who accidentally quotes a Cheap Trick song? But now she has to get to the bottom of if Will is really a rake, how to stop one of the most important battles of the war, and lastly how to stop her insane crush on the general. After all, he’s going to die in less than a week.

The muses have to work fast for this glimpse. But that’s when they work best. And as explosions erupt through New York, sometimes it’s not from the artillery.

“Why are you—” She stopped herself again. This time she bit her lush bottom lip and looked away.

“Why am I what?” He should have let her question falter, but he had to know for himself if she were a spy or not. The more questions she asked, the more she would reveal herself.

The anomalous thought flittered through his mind though that he wasn’t too sure if he cared if she were a spy.

She glanced back up at him, her eyes wide and timid. “Why are you here?”

That, he hadn’t expected. A spy would wonder about his men, his drills, his arms, anything else that mattered to the war. Not a philosophical question about why he was here. But even the reason why he was here could be used against him, if court martialed. He hadn’t realized that thus far. Then again, he’d thought he wouldn’t have survived this long in the war. In his mind, he would have no reason to be court martialed. He wouldn’t be alive for it.

She licked her lips and slightly shook her head. “I mean, you didn’t vote for any of the acts the Americans protested. The newspapers said that you didn’t support any kind of action against the Americans. You don’t support this war, yet here you are. Why?”

“Why not?” He tried to deflect the conversation.

She narrowed her eyes, no longer looking sheepish but challenging, ruthless, and so lovely. He liked her best like this, shooting faster than most of his men, speaking of sedition to his superiors, the Howe brothers. Lord, how he liked it when her eyes caught fire and turned back into dark red-brown honey. His veins pumped his too hot blood through his body.

“Why not, hmm?” She gave him a wicked smile. “Why not, indeed. I think you don’t want to be here.”

“On the contrary, there is no other place I’d rather be.”

She blinked, then caught his meaning that standing so close to her was exactly where he’d love to be. Arching a blonde brow, she said, “You know what I mean, obtuse man.”

He silently chuckled at his new name.

“I think you don’t want to be in this war.”

He felt his own mirth leave his face. “You might be right.”

“Then why are you here? Why do you fight? Especially so efficiently?”

“Do I?”

She growled, making Will grin again. “Quit evading the questions with your own.”

“Why? This is fun.”

She smacked one of his shoulders, then he caught her small hand in his.

“Is this fun for you too?” he asked, carefully gauging her reaction as he twined his fingers through hers.

She didn’t look at their hands. Instead, her gaze was focused on his chest. He especially enjoyed that, as if she found him desirable. Lord, he hoped so, that he wasn’t making a fool of himself.

She never answered, but looked up at him, her long lashes batting. He took hold of her candle and set it on a nearby table. In so doing he’d gotten that much closer to her, and just as he was thinking of holding her other hand, she reached up, probably on her toes, and kissed him. This time he reacted immediately. His lips melded with hers. She tasted strongly of mint, and he licked the seam of her lips to enjoy. She opened for him, and he dove his tongue into her mouth. God, she was sweet. Her arms wrapped around his neck, and he pulled her closer by holding onto her not-corseted waist. Next her tongue was inside his mouth, and he couldn’t help but pull her even closer, her stomach against his, her breasts crushed against his chest.

Will felt Erva fiddle with the ribbon at the nape of his neck, and his hair was released from its hold. Instantly, her hands raked through his mane. It gave him silent permission to finally take hold of her tresses with one of his hands. Pure silk ran through his fingers. He loved her long hair, so wild and free this moment. Like the color of corn silk, Erva’s locks were close to white with a light dandelion sheen. He fisted what he held, which tilted her head back, all the better to deepen the kiss. She moaned into his mouth. All his blood rushed south. That little noise was his undoing.
