Excerpt
Yes,” was the only word he heard in response to his proposal; Luca lost control. Passionately and provocatively, he took her with a hungry urgency. It wasn’t sweet. His mouth claimed hers, savagely taking what was his. The intoxicating nectar of Samantha only made him kiss her more deeply. He wanted her in a way that he’d never wanted any woman. Determined to possess every part of her body and mind in the moment, he would claim her tonight. She’d be his forever.

Luca tore his lips from hers. “Bedroom. Now,” he commanded. Leading her by her small soft hand, he stopped her before they got to his bed.

“I will have you tonight, Samantha. After tonight, you’ll never forget that you are mine. And I will be yours.”

Samantha silently nodded in response. She was ready to commit to this man, this vampire. Luca was everything she’d ever wanted in a male: strong, loving, trustworthy, and passionate. She knew in her heart that giving herself over to him was all she desired now and for her future.

Luca unraveled the belt on her robe, slid his fingers underneath the soft fabric and slowly pushed it off Samantha, letting his hands glide from the smooth skin of her shoulders to her hands. As the robe pooled at her feet, he gently took her hands in his. She stood bare before his eyes. “You’re enticing, Samantha. I cannot seem to get enough of you. So the question is, do you want to play with me tonight? Be honest with me, darlin’, because I plan to take you to places we’ve never been before.”

Samantha felt womanly, exposed to Luca. She trusted him completely as he released her hands and placed his on her waist. “Luca, please, hurry. I can’t seem to keep my hands off of you.”

“Well, I guess we’ll have to do something about that,” he smiled knowingly. “Turn around, face the wall. Don’t move unless I tell you. It’s time for some fun.”

Without question, she complied and waved her bottom at him, shooting him a sultry look that said, ‘come and get me’.

Luca loved how responsive she was under his direction. He didn’t ever bring women into his home, and certainly engaging in a little light bdsm was something he rarely did anymore. Yet he’d wanted to do this to her since the minute she’d danced with him in the club. Luca slid his hands slowly up the sides of her waist, under her arms, pushing them upward and placing the palms of her hands against the wall. With the same precision, he glided his hands back down her arms, waist, until finally, he reached her bottom.

“Samantha, you are everything I’ve ever wanted in a woman; beautiful, smart.” She let out a small moan; he rubbed his hard aching bulge against her. He wanted to fuck her right now, but he wouldn’t dare. No, he planned to make her beg for mercy as he slowly brought her to orgasm over and over.

Though he was still fully clothed, she could feel his magnificent erection against her bum. She wanted him in her now; she grew wet from the intense ache between her legs. “Please, Luca.”

His hands slid from her ass around to lie just beneath her sensitive bosom. She moved slightly to urge him to cup her breasts. He smiled, smelling the overwhelming scent of her desire, but he wanted to draw out the anticipation, tease her with delight. “No, no, no, darlin’. Not tonight. You don’t get to decide when or how the pleasure happens. You wanted to play, so play we shall,” he whispered into her ear. Goosebumps ran over her skin in response to his hot breath. “Tonight is about wanting what you can’t have until I give it to you. It’s about me savoring every stroke of your flesh. The ultimate pleasure, tasting you while you come, screaming my name. Now, do you want me to touch your lovely breasts? Tell me, Samantha.”

Interview

Thanks so much to Provocative Pages for sharing my new release, Luca’s Magic Embrace, and sharing my author interview with your readers.  It is great to be here! :)

How did you decide on your character names?
Luca’s Magic Embrace is the second book in the Immortals of New Orleans series so both the names/characters, Luca and Samantha, came from the first book. Whenever I name a new character, I try to pick a name that represents that character’s personality. It could be a sexy, strong alpha male name, like Luca or Kade. Or in Samantha’s case, I was looking for a beautiful name but also a strong female name.

It can be difficult because as an author, I really do want the name to fit the character. And I don’t always get it right in my first draft. I can end up changing it, sometimes even after the book is written. When I wrote Kade’s Dark Embrace, I used the name Zach the entire book. After editing it, I decided to change it to Kade. I liked both names but Zach ended up not being a good fit for Kade’s ultra-alpha male personality.

How long did it take you to write this novel?
It can take me a couple of months to write a draft novel sized around 80,000 words. But that is only the very beginning of the process. I work with an editor who goes through it, helping to smooth out the novel, fix inconsistencies, etc. And then after that, I end up revising it a few times, having people beta reading it and then it goes off for proofreading. Once it comes back, I have to read it through and revise it yet again.  With both Kade’s and Luca’s book, it has taken approximately four months to get the eBook released.  It takes an additional month or so to get the print copy done.

Did you have to do research? If yes, did you travel anywhere?
Yes. For Luca’s book I did online research about code hacking and cipher creation as well as site research in New Orleans.  I’ve been to New Orleans many times, but while I was writing Luca’s book, I had the opportunity to go again.  I was able to take tons of pictures and scout out the Maid of New Orleans statue.  I actually ended up re-writing the scene where Luca and Samantha are looking for clues at the statue to reflect the actual physical layout of it.  It really makes more sense when you get a chance to travel to the place you are describing.

If you do site research, it is easy to write about what you know and really describe what you’ve tasted, heard, smelled, seen, etc. There is nothing like the taste of a beignet or the feel of the crowd and street vendors throughout the French Quarter or the sound of street musicians.  While in New Orleans, I also had the chance to tour the suburban areas and bayous.  As I write Tristan’s book, these details will become more important, and I really needed to see it for myself.

What do you do when you’re going through a writer’s block?
The hardest part of writing a book, for me, is starting the next novel. If writer’s block starts, I do one of two things.  Either I take a break from what I am writing and start writing about a different topic, like autism for my PyschologyToday.com blog.  Or I just need to go back and really think about how the scene is going to flow.  Sometimes it can be harder to write if I don’t have a clear sense of how a scene is going to be played out in detail including what the characters are going to do and say.  I need to have all the details worked out in my head before I start writing, or it can thwart the natural flow of words.

What attracts you to the paranormal genre?
There is just something magical about leaving the reality of real life and being able to write about anything you want.  In a paranormal romance, characters are open to all kinds of experiences that are only limited by the author’s imagination.  They have supernatural gifts and talents, and the rules of game can be anything you want them to be.  And of course, there is nothing sexier than a hot alpha male vampire…well, except for, perhaps, a hot alpha male wolf.

Anything you would like to ask our readers before you go?
First, I’d like to thank you and your readers for having me today.  I really appreciate the opportunity to be here and to share Luca’s story and the Immortals of New Orleans series.

I would love to ask your readers what their favorite kind of paranormal is.  Shifters?  Vampires?  Witch?  Other?  :)  Which one do they find the sexiest?

Author Bio:

Luca’s Magic Embrace is my second paranormal romance novel, which is the second novel in the Immortals of New Orleans Series. I have also written and published several articles about autism. I developed a late interest in writing after my son was diagnosed with autism and I started advocating on his behalf. Three years ago, I started my own website, www.AutismInRealLife.com and now blog and write articles for PsychologyToday.com.

I live in Pennsylvania with my husband, two children and our dog, Ace. My hobbies include autism advocacy, reading, tennis, zumba and traveling. New Orleans is one of our favorite places to visit with its rich culture and unique cuisine. But we also love traveling just about anywhere that has a beach or snow covered mountains.  I love reading mysteries, romances and about all things regarding vampires, werewolves and other supernaturals.
