What starts out as a simple massage treatment for spa manager David’s best friend Kim, turns into a night of seduction and sexual discovery.

Always relegated to the friend zone, David is determined to show Kim what she’s been missing…one erogenous zone at a time. Sure, their friendship is on the line. And sure, David’s hiding a motive larger than either him or Kim. But the second his hands touch her smooth skin, he just doesn’t care anymore.

Kim’s been so focused on the loss of her sports career that she’s had no time for romance or sex. But her response to David can’t be denied. Is it just that her body’s been missing out, or could her heart be involved too?

Review

Great, steamy read! I just love unconventional locations besides the bedroom!

This was an enjoyable read for me. Kim was an ex-athlete who devoted her life to racquetball. When her career ended because of an injury, she was left dealing with things she ignored before - like her sexuality for example.

From the beginning of the book, she was a woman in heat! This is also the time she started noticing how hot her best friend David was.

David was a great friend. He wanted what was best for Kim and was always there for her. He was the perfect man - sometimes almost too good to be true. He had a hidden secret, though.

When everything came out in the open, I was impressed how David handled it. He was gallant and a total gentleman. The ending was refreshing and I truly enjoyed it. I think if this book has a lot of potential to be a full novel if given the chance.

Review

AN ABSOLUTE MUST-READ!

This book is one of the best I've ever read; I just had to read it in TWO days! This book had so much sexual tension, you would be hot and bothered from beginning to end! No joke. I laughed and cried throughout this book. I was heartbroken when Makayla's heart broke. Absolute brilliance!

From the very beginning, Torment was portrayed as a man very strong and dangerous, but with Makayla, he was very gentle and soft. He was also very controlling in a protective way. I love the surge of power that emanated from his body when he was very angry or very aroused. He protected Makayla emotionally and physically as much as he could. Of course, sometimes it was a little too much, but he meant well.

Makayla was a proud woman who did not ask for help, just like her mother did. She preferred to work for her money, even when she needed help most. She lived eating noodles because she needed the money for something else. She was very strong, even when she didn't realize it. She was the opposite of a society woman - classy and sophisticated - but she had heart. I absolutely love it when she's with Torment. Sometimes I just laugh too much reading their scenes.

Like I already said, this book is a must-read! Check out the list of reasons why Torment is sexy:
  • Leather jacket
  • Motorcyle
  • Sexy ripped muscles
  • Air of danger and power
  • Thoughtful and protective
  • Three level house for entertainment
  • Has a chauffeur and butler
  • Patient teacher
  • Likes bondage and dominance
Finally, my favorite quote in the entire book! This is what true love is all about!
"I am paying that debt, Makayla whether you want it or not. I will not let you suffer the way my family suffered. I won't have him chasing after you or threaten your life. I'll save you even if it means losing you."

Review

This book is one of those where you stay up late at night and sacrifice sleep to find out what happened next! I literally had TWO hours of sleep when I went to work the next day!

From beginning to end, this book was full of suspense and action! I absolutely cannot put this book down. It reminded me once again why I love reading. It brought me into a fictional world and helped me forget the stress of the real world.

Morgan was one brave woman. She took a chance when she saved Jack. She was even braver when something bad happened to her. She didn't lose hope and didn't surrender to fear. She also knew how to go after what she wanted. Now that's one awesome heroine!

Jack, on the other hand, was one tough cookie. I love that he used to be a Navy SEAL, but he changed when he met Morgan. I love it when a woman is able to make a man heed ;) A strong man in love is definitely sexy.

I can't wait to read Shane and Max's story! I love reading about great friendship between strong men. This book and author is absolutely amazing! MUST-READ!!!

He’s maid of honor for his best friend, Caroline Oakenfeld, in her wedding to a pencil-necked geek. But the closer he gets to the ceremony, the more he wonders if he's been missing out all this time.

Caroline has been missing out, and she knows it. She’s been in love with Heck forever, but frittering her life away until Heck wises up isn’t part of her life plan. She’s agreed to marry her boyfriend so she can move on with her life. But the closer she gets to the ceremony, the more she realizes she has to resolve her feelings for Heck.

For better or for worse.

Review

Cute story.

I like the way Heck absolutely objected to Caroline marrying Mr. Pencil Neck. Agreeing to marry her fiance just because she felt she was running out of time was not the best idea. In real life, that would be tragic. Thankfully, this story gave the two a chance to spend time with each other. Once Heck started noticing Caroline as a real woman, everything started falling into place. The normal routine of sharing an ice cream cone became erotic.

I also enjoyed the character Jhi. She was basically a witch and a thorn in Heck's life. However, they had to put up with each other for Caroline's sake. At times, she was very cunning and manipulative, but it was all for the good of her friends.

Finally, I absolutely enjoyed the fact that Heck was the maid of honor. I mean, it's just adorable! The stripper? Oh my. That was awkward. Very realistic, indeed!

Review

Melissa Cutler has the gift of the writing gods!

At first, this book was a bit slow, probably the first 50-75 pages. Take into consideration that I was also very stressed out when I was trying to read the book. However, once I finally got into the reading mindset and reminding myself how much I love the author herself, I was able to start enjoying the book more. I think there was little interaction in the beginning, that's why I didn't get into it right away.

Once Levi and Kate started talking and getting along with each other, the romance started, as well as the mystery. This book was absolutely unpredictable until the very end! I kept trying to guess how it will end, and an author that can keep me guessing is definitely someone that deserves the bestselling honor. Levi and Kate's past were marvelously developed, it was as if I knew them individually by reading their stories of the past.

I also enjoyed Levi and his relationship with his father. Behind the sarcasm and supposed anger, Mr. Jethro Colton cared about his bastard son. It was amazing how their banter just grew on me, and I looked forward to it on every page. In fact, I enjoyed it so much, I would have been happy if the book revolved around dialogues between Levi, Kate, and Jethro ;)

Overall, this book was fantastic! Please check it out, you will not regret it....especially if you like pastries and anything dessert!! The coincidence and the stroke of destiny was so crazy, it was amazing! Melissa Cutler has a gift for writing suspenseful scenes!

Check out my favorite scene!

Levi: "If talking about my capable hands makes you blush, then you'd better pick out the peaches on your own. I can be in charge of getting the other ingredients."
Kate: "What's wrong with the peaches?"
Levi: "Peaches give me dirty thoughts."
Kate: "Really, peaches?"
Levi: "Oh, yes. Peaches are downright wicked. Don't ever let me see you eat a peach or I'll lose all composure, guaranteed."
Kate: "I always thought bananas were the most wicked produce."
Levi: "Well, you'd better never let me see you eating one of those, either."
Kate: "To be on the safe side, I'll take care of the produce. You get the butter. If I'm going to teach you how to make croissants, we're going to need a lot of it."

Elizabeth Wright worked hard in a large Tampa law firm making a name for herself, but it came at the expense of her personal life. When Advantage Insurance Company offers her a job as corporate counsel, Elizabeth cannot turn it down.  The thought that she can have a successful legal career and a life excites and intimidates her.

But when their worlds collide one day in the Advantage board room, neither Elizabeth nor John knows what’s hit them.  All they know is they can’t stay away from each other.

Review

The attraction between John and Elizabeth was obvious. Elizabeth tried to be logical, but one kiss from John turned her brain into goo. I was hoping they'd get it on in a conference room or Elizabeth's office. I was a little bit disappointed that they didn't, but John's home more than made up for it. A house with an elevator? Oh yeah, it's definitely more than enough.

John was very blunt. He said whatever was on his mind, and he was very clear about sleeping with Elizabeth. That came off a little creepy at times. It didn't sound romantic or sexy the way he would deliver his words. There's such a thing as too blunt, in my opinion.

Overall, the book was good, but quite short. I was also hoping I'd get to read about John and Elizabeth in the back of his town car as he promised. Well, I hope there's a continuation to their story!
