Angelle Prejean is in a pickle. Her family is expecting her to come home with a fiancé—a fiancé who doesn’t exist. Well, he exists, but he definitely has no idea Angelle told her mama they were engaged. Tattooed, muscled, and hotter than sin, Cane can reduce Angelle to a hot mess with one look—and leave her heart a mess if she falls for him. But when she ends up winning Cane at a charity bachelor auction, she knows just how to solve her fiancé problem.

Cane Robicheaux is no one’s prince. He doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t fall in love. When sweet, sultry-voiced Angelle propositions him, he hopes their little game can finally get her out of his head. He doesn’t expect her to break through all his barriers. But even as Angelle burrows deeper into his heart, he knows once their seven days are up, so is their ruse.

Review

This book was so romantic! I was practically giddy the entire time I was reading it!

The first reason I loved this book was because of the terms used to describe people and things in Bon Terre (such as "the lovely grump that is Daddy"). The country way of expressing things were thick in this book, and I absolutely enjoyed it!

The next reason I enjoyed this book was none other than CANE. Even Angelle agrees with me: Everything about Cane is swoon-worthy. You can't just choose one of his assets and focus on it. It's the entire package! He was such a wholesome character! He was badass on the outside, and super sensitive and adorable on the inside! I liked the bad boy/closet nerd combo!

Angelle was fascinating to say the least. Her nervous habits and practically the way she stutters herself to death around Cane was amusing. It was one of the things that drew Cane to her charm. She was always biting/nibbling her lip because she was nervous or incredibly embarrassed about something. She blushed more than any female character I've ever read about!

"So, last night--"
"You bid an obscene amount of money just to go out with me," Cane interrupted, his deep voice laced with humor. Her eyes shot to his and he winked. "You know, darlin', all you had to do was say the word. You could've had me for free anytime." Sweet baby Jesus.

Yet another endearing thing about Angelle was her inexperience, or maybe it was that she was flustered by the smallest of things!

"Two deep dimples appeared in his cheeks, that coupled with the low notes of his voice and the sexy wisp of ink peeking under his sleeve, turned Angelle's legs into cooked noodles. The man could make anything sound erotic...although it wasn't as if she had a ton of experience with that sort of thing. The one time she'd actually attempted to watch a porno, she'd been alone and way too embarrassed to finish it. And too concerned about what the camera crew was doing. Or if the men and women filming ever farted during a scene. But from her very limited knowledge, Cane would make a killing in the industry."

One thing I didn't like about the book was the many names Angelle had. If it wasn't Angelle, it was Angie, or Ang. I would have preferred that the author stuck with one name. Not only that, she also had countless of childhood nicknames! I mean, seriously? That was a bit much.

Other than that, this book was absolutely amazing. The protective factor was present among Cane and Angelle's brothers. The cute factor was present among the little ones especially Sadie when she would run to Cane instead of Angelle (Cane attracted the female specie of all ages).

"They weren't perfect. Cane still stumbled and got confused. One time, he even stepped on her toes (dancing). But it was in those mistakes that Angelle lost a bit more of her heart. He was trying, trying for her, and he was there, for her. The sexy, intelligent, witty playboy before her was willing to make an ass out of himself for the sake of the cause...and because it made her happy."

GO BUY THIS BOOK!!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT, I PROMISE :)
